BRIGHTEN OVUM and ANEMBRYONIC PREGNANCY can be used interchangeably, this is the type of Pregnancy that occurs after a fertilized Ovum that divides and fails to grow properly of the Cell where it form gestation sac without an embryo and it can implant to the wall of the uterus and fail to grow to normal pregnancy and at the end of the day pregnancy is aborted or miscarried.

This type of Pregnancy can affect some mothers during their lifetime and lead to miscarriage within 3 months or within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and accounts for 50% of all miscarriages during pregnancy which is the leading cause of miscarriage.

This type of pregnancy can be detected after doing an Ultrasound, which means without Ultrasound it can’t be detected that you have anembryonic Pregnancy.

The outcome of this Pregnancy is either miscarriage or abortion, although some women require Medication or surgical remove of product of concepts that remain in the Uterus.

What are the etiologies or Causes anembryonic Pregnancy?
Factors that lead to this type of Pregnancy are Like: –

  1. Defects in Genetics.
    This type of Pregnancy can be caused by a genetic defect (Chromosomal abnormalities) especially during the division and growth of the embryo that develops in the early stages of pregnancy.
  2. Unknown causes.
    The fact is that the cause of a miscarriage is still unknown.

How is a anembryonic Pregnancy Detected?
As noted above this type of Pregnancy is only known if the Pregnant Woman had an Ultrasound, this type of Pregnancy has symptoms of Pregnancy as usual for example:

  1. Getting nausea or vomiting in the morning when a pregnant woman wakes up.
  2. Getting Breast Pain or tenderness.
  3. Feeling Bad Smell.
  4. Missing your period.
  5. Frequent tiredness and feeling unwell.
  6. Frequent urination.
  7. Nipples to be black.
  8. Spott Bleeding.
  9. Getting abdominal cramping pain or Back Pain.
  10. Positive Urine Pregnancy Test to show that you’re Pregnant.

If a Pregnant Woman has these Common Pregnancy Symptoms and decides to go for an Ultrasound then this type of Pregnancy can be detected or if a Pregnant woman gets Symptoms of threatened abortion i.e Vaginal spott bleeding and excessive abdominal cramping then she decides to go for Ultrasound then this type of Pregnancy can be detected.

NOTE: This type of Pregnancy can be accidentally detected if the Pregnant woman decides to have an Ultrasound if the Pregnancy did not have any threatening signs of miscarriage.

How is Anembryonic pregnancy its treated?
If you are diagnosed with anembryonic Pregnancy,
Treatment usually depends on the health worker (Doctor) you are meeting with and your decisions as a Patient.
Treatment is divided into three main types.

  1. Watchful wait or conservative management until anembryonic pregnancy aborted or miscarried itself, As described above being a document that at the end of this pregnancy is abortion or spontaneous miscarried without the need for treatment or induction of abortion i.e you will feel cramping abdominal pain due to uterine contractions and by the end of the day the products of conceptus come out on their own,
    Only you will need to be closely monitored by your Doctor to monitor the progress of Pregnancy and danger signs.
  2. Provision of Medication for induction of abortion like misoprostol for cervical ripening and to stimulate the uterine contractions so that to removal products of conceptus from the Uterus.
  3. Surgical method like Dilation and curretage so that to remove products of conceptus from the Uterus.

NOTE: So the treatment depends on the decisions of your doctor and you as a patient without forgetting the condition you have in that period, so the treatment varies from one person to another.

After a miscarriage or abortion can I get pregnant again?

Yes,

You can carry another pregnancy once the pregnancy is over and you can give birth to a completely safe baby.

You will only need to rest for at least 6 months without carrying the Pregnancy to rest the body and the Uterus.
